The Plenty Ranges Arts and Convention Centre (PRACC) is rated as one of Melbourne’s best facilities. The venue features many large versatile event spaces, and fully equipped commercial kitchen. Importantly, it provides access to local residents, local businesses and caters to an audience with wide ranging preferences and budgets.
As a Chef of PRACC you will be responsible for the preparation of food, assisting when required in ordering supplies and ensuring that everything is managed properly within the kitchen while ensuring optimal customer experience.
You will also coordinate with front-of-house staff, check meal presentation to ensure high standards are met, check and maintain stock levels, and assist staff rosters.
Due to the nature of the business you will be required to work as required based on business demand, including after hours, public holidays and weekends.
A Chef of PRACC requires sound culinary experience, integrity, professionalism and leadership qualities to assist in running a successful kitchen.
You will require an exceptional knowledge of the food industry, in particular, event catering and operations, a great love for cooking, and be responsible for maintaining kitchen hygiene and implementing the food-safety plan together with other standard operating procedures.
The successful applicant should be qualified with previous experience in catering functions up to 500 persons.
