  • Full time, fixed term for 18-month offering a base salary from $96K - $103K p.a., plus leave loading and a generous employer’s contribution to superannuation
About The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to start a new research career or to expand on their existing research experience. The successful candidate will undertake experimental and computational research of fluid-structure-thermal interactions in the context of buoyancy driven flows and publish the outcomes in highly ranked refereed journals. Previous experience in experimental and numerical modelling of heat transfer and fluid-structure interaction is highly regarded.

Applicants should have a PhD in a topic relevant to fluid mechanics or heat transfer and demonstrated outstanding research potential with experience in experimental and numerical modelling of fluid flow or heat transfer problems. Demonstrated ability to publish research outcomes in high-quality international journals is also an essential criterion. Experience in buoyancy driven flows and fluid-structure-thermal interactions will be highly regarded.

  • a PhD in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics or a related discipline in a topic relevant to fluid mechanics or heat transfer
  • research experience in experimental and numerical modelling of heat transfer or fluid-structure interaction
  • a demonstrated ability to publish research outcomes in high-quality international journals
  • an ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and capacity to conduct independent research
  • good written and verbal communication skills
