The role

We are looking for a Workforce Operations Leader to oversee the day to day operations of our Event Delivery Workforce. Reporting to the Workforce Planning Manager, this newly created role has come about as our Workforce Planning capability and processes mature. As the Workforce Operations Leader, you will work closely with the Workforce Planning team to drive a high quality, high performing event workforce across customer service, security, merchandise and back of house operations roles to meet the needs of our events, guests and clients.

As a constructive and development focussed leader, you will lead a team of three Workforce Planners ensuring that they are developing into their future career path and excelling in their roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will lead, coach and develop a team of talented Workforce Planners
  • Have a strong focus on the performance and development of our Event Delivery Workforce
  • With the support of the Workforce Planning Manager, oversee the scheduling processes for all workforce groups - internal casual and permanent workforce and outsourced labour providers
  • With the support of your team, deliver an effective and efficient event day experience for our workforce that enables them to deliver exceptional service to our customers
  • Utilising existing and developed platforms and strategies, regularly communicate to the Event Delivery Workforce ensuring our workforce are kept in the know and engaged in the exciting goings on of our business
  • With the support of the Workforce Planning Manager, manage the delivery and performance of identified outsourced labour provider/s
  • Work collaboratively across the business to lead and champion operational improvements and strategic changes in the organisation
  • Build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

About You

  • Operational expertise and knowledge in large scale workforce planning and event delivery
  • Knowledge and experience in employee and industrial relations frameworks such as enterprise bargaining agreements, awards, workplace policies and frameworks
  • A constructive, collaborative and motivational leader with practical experience managing and coaching high performers
  • Well-developed approach to collaborative and effective working relationships with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and thorough planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to effectively handle and resolve employee relations issues (disciplinary, performance, conduct, grievances)
  • A solution focused, innovative and creative thinker with strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple, often competing, demands/tasks effectively, remaining calm in high pressure situations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, workforce management (ie. EmpLive or similar) and financial management systems
  • Tertiary qualifications relevant to the role (Events Management, Human Resource Management, Employee or Industrial Relations or similar) or equivalent industry experience.
