JOB DESCRIPTION

Ormeggio at The Spit, located at D’Albora Marinas in Mosman, is about to relaunch in its 11th year as a buzzy Italian Seafood Restaurant and Cocktail Bar. It is located in a spectacular waterside setting, overlooking Middle Harbour and Pearl Bay.
It has Two Chef Hats in the national Good Food Guide and has been a hatted restaurant since opening in 2009. Ormeggio is consistently in Gourmet Traveller’s Australia’s Top 100 Restaurants, along with winning multiple other awards, has an incredible team of skilled people from all over the world, and an award winning wine list.

We are looking for reliable and motivated chefs to join our team with a background showing previous culinary experience. We have casual positions & full time roles for the right candidate.

Our team is highly skilled and passionate about quality produce and precise cooking. It's a very multicultural team. 

We require chefs of all levels to join our team and we have casual roles & full time available for the right candidate. 

Sustainable seafood, some very fun and interesting dishes, pasta making, gelato making.... there's a lot going on!

The job will include:

* Preparation, presentation &display of all menu items in your designated area of the kitchen

* Maintenance &cleaning of equipment and work area

* You'll be working closely with Chefs Alessandro, Victor and Gianmarco.

* Menu development is constant, consistency and attention to detail is prized. 

** Please note we are located in The Spit, not in Mosman itself. 

Ormeggio Requirements: 

  • 1 year experience working in a commercial kitchen
  • Preferred working knowledge of Italian cuisine (and pasta making a bonus)
  • Possess a strong work ethic and have excellent communication skills
  • Can produce consistent quality with a keen eye with high attention to detail
  • Have a positive and ‘can do’ attitude
  • Would like to assist with menu planning and suggestions
  • Enjoy the benefits of expanding your experience and knowledge
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and work as a team player
  • Current working visa or Australian resident 
  • Knowledge of Italian language is desired but not essential
  • Love of food and providing fantastic experiences for the customer!
