We are looking for a hardworking, committed recruiter & workforce planner to join the 28 Villages Perth team.

28 Villages is a locally owned remote catering business committed to bringing mining villages to life with outstanding catering and customer service.

Our remote mining villages operate 365 days of the year. Our recruitment team, work a 2&1 roster ensuring continuous coverage for our sites.

While rostered on you will need to work 8am to 5pm over the weekends. Working a 2&1 roster you will have approximately 17 to 18 full weeks a year out of the office.

The Role

  • As part of our recruitment team, you will work with our Perth office staff and our village managers to ensure we have sufficient employee coverage for our villages.
  • You will be responsible for recruiting, finding, selecting, and employing the right people for our business.
  • You will stay in regular contact with our village managers to monitor the performance of our new recruits ensuring that we continuously improve our selection processes.
  • You will be responsible for monitoring staff performance and identifying internal transfers and promotion opportunities for high performing staff within our business.
  • You will mobilise our employees to site ensuring all site access requirements are complete in a timely manner
  • You will assist our Perth office with operational coverage. Over the weekend, you will be the first point of contact for our remote villages. You will decide which operational issues need to be escalated.
  • Occasionally you will attend our remote villages to stay connected and involved with our remote operations.

Skills and experiences

  • Recruitment, workforce planning, staff mobilisation or rostering experience in a fast paced environment would be highly desirable
  • Recruitment experience in a hospitality environment employing chefs is not required although would be highly desirable
  • We are open to considering applications from chefs with good organisational skills and above average IT skills.
  • Experience within the remote catering industry is not required although it would be desirable
  • HR experience, injury management experience or safety experience is not required although would be desirable
