Head Of Operations

JOB DESCRIPTION

As I see it, this role is much bigger, broader, more influential and, well, bloody interesting when I benchmark it to other Head of Ops gigs. The other thing, too, is that it is with a business that I don’t think I need to really pitch, at all.

Providoor is where this thing is at. You probably know a little bit about them or have heard about it but just haven’t tried it, yet. We come across a lot of start-ups, scaling businesses and what Providoor has achieved is phenomenal. Their plans for world domination, well, sounded pretty good to me, too. From a culture perspective, I much prefer to talk about it, but highly capable people and good humans, too.

But back to the role…

So, I alluded to the scope and this role going further than what you might expect in an Ops leadership role. Firstly, there are some massive projects around logistics; things like delivery, licensing could be examples of that. Managing supplier relationships, business models, agreements, contracts and commercials. You’ll have help, absolutely, but you’ll own relationships and the outcomes.

The other component is restaurant relationships, onboarding and experience. You’ll have a team of Account Managers to manage the day-to-day and onboarding but as direct line reports into this role. So, when we describe this as a commercial role and broad it covers quite a bit of scope of how and where the business operates.

This role works closely with the Founder with autonomy but the ability to influence and really make an impact. Impact is one of the words thrown around A LOT these days. I know and I’m sorry but I really mean it this time.

Who do you need to be?

Sharp, ability to think bigger picture, but also get into the detail and get on with it. Able to juggle a lot of tasks but also large, complex problems/projects. You’ve done this, or most of it before, and experience in a start-up environment, pre or post-revenue. It would be highly desirable if you have worked in food delivery/technology before or eCommerce.

If this sounds so outrageously amazing that you’re curious or intrigued? Then… apply and say hi!
