Reporting to the Franchised People & Culture Manager, the Senior People and Culture Audit & Compliance Advisor takes the lead on managing our internal and external audit process (in conjunction with our external audit company). This is a position very close to our heart as our people are EVERYTHING. Whether you work for a corporate or franchised restaurant you are part of the GYG family and this position plays a key role in ensuring that you are paid right every time!

The position includes:

  • Work closely with People & Culture Business Partners and Head of Human Resources to fine-tune the audit process
  • Manage the end to end audit cycle to the annual plan including but not limited to, industrial instrument conditions such as pay rates, job classifications, allowances, superannuation, visa compliance and GYG policy compliance.
  • Manage scheduled audit communication internally and externally
  • Provide clarification of employment legislation, policy and procedure conditions.
  • Review all audit reports and ensure accuracy before they are sent.
  • Prepare and present audit findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
  • Work with closely with Franchisees, where any data gaps are identified to resolve promptly.
  • Maintain open communication with People & Culture team, external employment lawyers and Franchisees where appropriate.
  • Provide best practice recommendations relating to audit findings, identifying inefficient and uncompliant processes and continuous improvement ideas.

You'll bring;

  • Qualifications and skills:
  • Tertiary qualification in HR, payroll, industrial relations, business, or similar.
  • Proven experience in a similar role and a comprehensive understanding of the Australian Awards system.
  • Proven experience in completing compliance auditing in an Award and/or Agreement environment
  • Strong understanding of Australian employment law.

Data management and analysis:

  • Ability to manipulate and compile large amounts of data and documentation
  • Ability to understand, interpret and identify gaps/inaccuracies in data /documentation using internal audit controls.
  • High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills:
  • Sound independent judgement and exceptional stakeholder management
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English

Computer skills:

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with working with multiple payroll and time and attendance systems. Experience with Kronos, Preceda or Xero is beneficial.
