Roy Hill is currently seeking a Manager Heritage to join the team on a 5:2 Roster in Perth. Reporting to the General Manager Environment, Government Relations and External Affairs, you will be responsible for working with our traditional owner groups and the Community Development team to develop and implement effective heritage management plans and approval strategies that ensure our business objectives are achieved. The role will also lead and be responsible for overseeing management of the Ground Disturbance Permit process and Roy Hill's engagement with government on heritage legislation and policy development. Accountabilities include: -

  • Provide overall leadership and stewardship of the Cultural Heritage Management Plans established for the project.
  • Formulate and maintain relevant policies and procedures for matters relevant to the duties of the Heritage Management Team.
  • Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships across the business and with individuals.
  • Assess, progress, and communicate the importance, value and achievement of departmental goals.

For you to achieve outstanding results in this position, your experience may include the following: -

  • Tertiary Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Anthropology, Archaeology, Law).
  • Significant experience working in heritage and approvals within major projects in Western Australia.
  • Experience in managing a small team of professionals / specialists within a major project environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant Heritage legislation (i.e. Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972, Native Title Act, proposed ACH Bill).
