Adelaide Oval has long been one of Australia’s most recognisable and prestigious venues. Its prominent location as the centrepiece of the Adelaide CBD’s revitalised riverbank precinct, along with stunning panoramic views over the city. The Oval is both hallowed and iconic.

The Oval is a world-class, multi-purpose, 50-thousand seat stadium and is Adelaide’s number one tourism destination attracting over 1.8 million visitors each year and is also significant contributor to the State’s tourism cache with the award winning RoofClimb adventure and behind the scenes tours of the stadium.

AOSMA employs approximately 180 full-time staff, plus 1,800 casual employees, in roles including operations, customer service, chefs, cooks, supervisors, baristas, bar and functions staff and stores attendants, making Adelaide Oval one of the state’s largest employers in the hospitality and tourism sectors.

As well as managing a busy function and event business at Adelaide Oval, AOSMA also oversees the hospitality services for a number of off-site venues including, Ukaria Cultural Centre, Monarto Zoo, Koffee Ink and the Malt Shovel Taphouse.

Workforce Coordinator

Working side-by-side with the Hospitality and People & Culture teams, the Workforce Coordinator's position encompasses a variety of HR duties whilst also providing one-on-one support to the Senior Hospitality Team, to ensure the smooth operation of the Adelaide Oval Hospitality facilities.

With a portfolio of approximately 800 employees comprising of mainly casual Hospitality Attendants and Supervisors, this position assists the senior managers in ensuring delivery of quality food and beverage for patrons and guests throughout Adelaide Oval outlets, suites and function rooms is of a consistently high standard. As an integral part of the Hospitality Team, you will provide high level administrative support in the areas of recruitment, rostering and terminations of the casual workforce, food safety, SOP’s, reporting, and many other varied administrative functions.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Managing the casual labour for the Hospitality division including utilisation, forecasting and scheduling of rosters.
  • Managing the recruitment, selection and on-boarding of Casual Hospitality workforce.
  • Providing daily administration assistance to Senior Hospitality team members including diary management, and team communications.
  • Managing and coordinate Trainee rosters.
  • Assisting with terminations and performance management issues.
  • Assisting the workforce team inputting staff rosters via the payroll system.
  • Delegating administrative duties to junior team members.
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have

To be successful you will be able to hit the ground running and have previous experience in a similar role with an administrative background in Human Resources specialising in workforce recruitment and coordination.
  • Prior experience in recruitment and customer service.
  • The ability to maintain high workloads, and meet deadlines within specific time frames.
  • The ability to work with team members from all levels of the organisation including members of the senior management team.
  • Ability to follow reasonable instructions in a safe and timely manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidence to work autonomously in a hands-on capacity.
  • Flexibility to work out of hours on during event/game days when required.
  • Intermediate experience with the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Prior experience in the hospitality industry is desirable.
