About the role
Due to a new contract win in the Defence sector, Delron are seeking an experienced Cleaning Supervisor to join their team based at Irwin Barracks in Perth. Whilst this role is predominantly based at Irwin Barracks working as part of their established and close knit team, most of your time will entail travelling to other Army Barracks, Military bases and general Defence sites across WA, to mentor and train cleaners and team heads and oversee cleaning operations to assist in delivering and maintaining an exceptional service for our clients.



About you
Reporting directly into the Defence Operations Manager, you are safety conscious hands-on supervisor who can motivate and inspire others and ensure adherence to all applicable Safe Work Method Statements and Procedures.


You are accomplished at performing work at a supervisory level and inspiring others whether this is through inviting feedback and responding to concerns, conducting employee coaching sessions, demonstrating by example, keeping communication open, clear and honest and ensuring that you are regularly involved in the day-to-day needs and operations of the business. You also understand the business needs that require you to step in and fulfil the duties and responsibilities that are required of your staff, from time to time.



Key duties, but not limited to

  • Creating a safe and positive working environment, including conducting regular toolbox meetings
  • Performing general cleaning duties as required, including deep cleaning & detailed cleaning of public areas and operating machinery
  • Inducing new staff to site and ensure training in operation of equipment, handling of chemicals and manual handling
  • Ensuring cables and machines are tested and tagged and in date
  • Ensuring rosters and timesheets are collected/received by deadlines


Skills and experience

  • Experience working in a professional cleaning capacity, ideally in an industrial/commercial environment
  • Experience in managing team members in a complex cleaning environment
  • Experience in business administration, rostering, ordering, delivering toolbox talks, mentoring and coaching
  • Accountable to deliver services as per scope in a safe and diligent manner
  • Experience in training in the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment


Other special conditions
The incumbent to this position must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Pass. As a result of this requirement the incumbent must be an Australian Citizen and hold a valid National Criminal History Check, with no criminal court outcomes or pending charges.
