JOB DESCRIPTION

About the role:

The Victoria Police Academy kitchen produces approximately 800 meals per day, Monday to Friday.

These roles will assist our Chefs in producing hot and cold meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The role will serve meals to customers and keep work areas in a clean and sanitary condition, in accordance with food safety standards.

The successful applicant will report to the team leader and will work closely with our team of Chefs and front of house staff.

Victoria Police is a contemporary and agile workplace and support flexible working arrangements.

Your duties will include:

  • Food preparation, cooking and production as directed by Chefs
  • Attend to stock deliveries
  • Store all foods appropriately
  • Rotate stock as required
  • Maintain a sanitary kitchen

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Food Handlers Certificate (accredited)
  • Experience in high volume food preparation
  • Experience in commercial kitchen
  • High level customer service skills

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) full time ongoing position available.
  • One (1) part time (0.6FTE) fixed term until 31/12/2021.
  • Position will be located at Victoria Police Academy, 1 View Mount Road, Glen Waverly; Airlie Leadership College, Domain Road, South Yarra (occasionally).
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
