What will I be doing?

As Event Sales and Marketing Executive, you will maximise revenue opportunities in the areas of conferences and events by identifying new contacts, driving sales leads and increasing conversion. The Event Sales and Marketing Executive will develop and maintain key relationships to drive new business & maintain loyalty to meet and exceed revenue targets and work proactively to market our Events spaces and outlets.

  • Actively convert enquiries into confirmed business ensuring maximum revenue opportunities and profitability for the Hotel.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with conference clients, PCO’s, hotel suppliers and other hotels that reflect our values.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of our property and events spaces to deliver exceptional service to new and prospective clients and to develop new leads, qualify prospective leads as to profitability and covert business.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to increase sales and conversions within the Commercial team
  • Updating and maintaining accurate account profiles in the database systems e.g. Delphi
  • Handling all groups, meetings & events enquiries &coordination
  • Prepare event orders in a timely manner and in accordance to operations rostering
  • Responding positively to sales opportunities to effectively manage the leads
  • Meet and greet clients and Conduct effective site visits & client entertaining
  • Conducting tours of inspections (TOI) of the hotel with potential clients and being flexible to their needs in terms of timing.
  • Manage an events schedule to maximise yield and focus on a consistently executed up-selling approach.
  • Build strong relationships with customers to fully understand their needs and arrange and carry out Hotel Tours and participate in hotel promotional activities.
  • Be ‘an ambassador’ for the hotel
  • Contribute to marketing and communications plans and follow them to ensure all activities agreed to and budgeted for are completed effectively and on time throughout the year.
  • Organise monthly social media calendar, maintain local channels with hotel support and monitor and report on activities.
  • Manage day-to-day relationship with approved creative agencies and printers and ensure all collateral design, printing and distribution requirements are fulfilled.
  • Lead food and beverage marketing planning, budget and activities, (with approvals), and create promotional strategies to support positioning
  • Take responsibility for proactively updating marketing content on all brand websites (Copy, Images, Promotions) to ensure complete accuracy, effective positioning and optimised for conversion.
  • Take responsibility for updating content on third party websites such as Expedia, Trip Advisor etc.
  • Ensure major promotions plans activities are implemented effectively and on time.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the design and placement of print and online advertising that is brand-compliant.

  • Confident telephone manner with previous sales experience
  • High level of IT skills
  • Excellent grooming standards

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
  • Knowledge of the hotel property management systems
  • Qualification, degree, or certification in a relevant field
