The opportunity:

With its brand-new high-quality kitchen, fully renovated bar, gaming room and bistro…along with its awesome team, there is nothing not to love about this place. Due to the ongoing popularity of the hotel, we are now looking for an enthusiastic Bistro Manager to join our dynamic team ASAP.

Qualifications / experience:

  • A relevant formal qualification and / or a minimum 3 years recent work experience in a similar role is highly desirable
  • Demonstration of a customer focused, and organised working style will be key as will a stable career history

Duties will include:

Your remit will be to organise, control and run the bistro operations and team, to provide a ‘best in class’ dining experience for all customers. This will also include:

  • Supervising the operations of the cellar ensuring correct, rotation, cleanliness and best practice for staff
  • Monitoring the use of outdoor space so it complies with the current guidelines of COVID 19
  • Monitoring and ordering of supplies including but not limited cleaning, gaming stationary, takeaway vessels
  • Projecting and adjusting daily labour needs to reflect and short term needs and trends of the business
  • Movement of staff within the business to reflect any immediate needs or demands within the multi zoned business
  • Liaise with the departmental managers including gaming as to the daily reconciliation and reporting
  • Balance and report each department at the end of each shift
  • Problem solve any unbalanced departments and locate discrepancy
  • Train junior staff to take orders, make drinks to the required standard
  • Develop cocktail and food menus that reflect the style and speed of service using the existing equipment

Important skills:

  • Well versed in the day to day operations of a busy bistro
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively
  • A strong work ethic

Remuneration:

  • Annual Salary in the range of $55,000 to $60,000 plus super, relative to demonstrated skills and knowledge
