The Role:

This role will see you partner closely with our AWESOME Franchise Operations team. The Senior People & Culture Business Partner (Franchise Restaurants) is responsible for the overall people practices within their client group, in conjunction with the Director of Franchise Operations, National Operations Manager, Area Managers and restaurant management teams.

You will lead, educate and coach on areas including but not limited to ER & compliance, culture, engagement, recruitment & retention, performance management, compensation & benefits, career development, succession planning, WH&S & workers compensation.

This includes but is not limited to;

  • Overseeing all ER matters within your franchise client group, educating franchisees on the processes they should follow, support them with decision making where and end-to-end management of matters within your region.
  • Working with our external auditors and franchisees on our audit program, educating franchisees on the process, handholding them through each step and ensure that audits are closed effectively and in a timely manner
  • Execute the engagement survey for your client group where applicable and develop action plans accordingly.
  • Support franchisees with recruitment, educating on the process, suggesting best practices of where to advertise and in-depth support for new restaurant openings, particularly for new franchisees.
  • Support the franchisees with succession planning and development of their teams, particularly as they grow into multi-site operators.
  • Continually educate and coach area managers and franchisees on people processes and award compliance
  • Support/manage special projects as required in particular this year with the implementation of a new time and attendance system (Kronos)

This will suit an experienced generalist who is solutions focused and familiar with the FMCG, Hospitality or retail industry.

Essential Requirements & Behaviours:

  • Passionate about the GYG brand, with an outgoing and engaging personality
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar role, in a fast paced, multi-site, customer facing environment
  • Experience in managing ER matters and a solid understanding of Awards/Enterprise Agreements
  • Experience in partnering with operational managers
  • Influencing, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to analyse and understand data and support franchisees to understand.
  • Tertiary qualifications in HR, IR or related discipline
  • Comfortable with some travel (including interstate) and hold a valid Australian drivers license.
