Visitor Services Assistant (multiple positions available). Have you got excellent customer service skills and want to work in a Library? State Library is currently recruiting for Visitor Services Assistance (VSA) to join our team. As a VSA you will be responsible for providing a welcoming front-line experience for visitors, and will work at multiple service points including cafe and Anzac Square Memorial Galleries. It is an advantage to have customer service experience, be undertaking library studies or have cafe experience.

Have you got excellent customer services skills? Do you enjoy working with people? State Library is seeking applicants with exceptional customer service skills, strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills. You will be committed to informing educating and responding to visitor needs. It is an advantage to have customer service experience, be undertaking library studies or have café experience.

You will need to have availability and flexibility in an environment which operates seven days per week, with the possibility of day, evening, weekend and public holiday shifts being allocated at short notice.

Duties and responsibilities we'll trust you with:

- Supporting the delivery of programs and services that promotes State Library's collections to the community and fosters curiosity, debate and discussion while meeting State Library's service commitments

- Participating in a high performing Visitor Services team to deliver a professional and responsive visitor services experience which meets key objectives of the Visitor & Information Services branch and organisational priorities

- Responding to general client enquiries, providing advice and information on library memberships, gathering visitor feedback and assisting clients in activities such as locating lost property

- Working effectively as a team member and undertaking front of house services. This includes the maintenance of public spaces and equipment and may include undertaking day to day cafe operations including, sales, cash handling, stocking and float reconciliation

- Contributing to business improvement activities ensuring relevant policies, procedures and guidelines meet best practice and State Library requirements. This includes a continuous improvement cycle for feedback, raising concerns and generating solutions
