The Third Day at North Melbourne is a dynamic and versatile event space that has hosted functions for some of the world's largest and most known brands and artists. With a capacity of 700, the warehouse has played host to live music festivals, art installations, weddings, product launches and a range of themed events.

We are seeking an experienced bar manager to lead our hospitality team.

About the role

Reporting to the venue owners, this role will be responsible for managing all bar operations and leading the hospitality team to deliver outstanding service to clients. Key responsibilities include:

• Staff hiring, training and rostering
• Attendance at weekly management meetings
• Ordering stock and stocktake
• Developing drink menus that complement in-house events, including designing cocktails
• Developing and implementing procedures to support smooth service, including opening and closing procedures
• Liaising with alcohol reps to create promotions
• Monitoring site condition and reporting maintenance requirements
• Taking and maintaining bookings

Most importantly, this role will work as a part of the broader management team, which will give the successful candidate the opportunity to participate in setting the direction of the venue and event offering.

Skills and experience

Our ideal candidate will have:

• A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role
• Formal qualifications in a relevant field will be highly regarded

Salary: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
