We are looking for a talented, passionate individual to establish and lead a new events. Reporting to the Melbourne General Manager and owner of the venue, this is a unique opportunity to join The Egg Shop team and be at the epicentre of innovation within the Melbourne inner city crew.

This role brings together project management, event strategy, content development, partner engagement and end-to-end delivery, and is responsible for leading the curation, setup and delivery of events in the Victorian Innovation Hub, and partner venues from time to time.

You will be responsible for building, maintaining and managing relationships with current and prospective event clients and partners, as well as leading commercial negotiations to identify and co-create events that bring benefit to startups.

In addition to overseeing the delivery of inbound client event requests, you will own The Egg Shop calendar and strategy in Victoria. This event strategy aims to drive the growth and development of new and emerging industries. As well as support the commercial growth of startups and scaleups in The Egg Shop.

As part of our strategy, which aims to deliver two to three major events per month, you will be responsible for project management, financial management, sponsor and speaker engagement and management, and all event management including communications, logistics and post-event follow up.

You will work alongside the The Egg Shop Cafe Managment Team who will advise on the strategic vision of the program of events, and help to shape and refine the events, create compelling promotional materials and brief speakers.

Duties & Responsibilities:

STRATEGY: Collaborative delivery of The Egg Shop. Including;

  • Working on the start up of The Egg Shop events.
  • including listing the evenue on all private venue sites, corporate partners, start-ups and industry leaders on these events
  • Establish strong & effective client relationships with new and existing residents and customers
  • Conducting weekly meetings to disseminate upcoming Egg Shop Events.
  • Provide information back to The Egg Shop Team on the ‘on the ground’ feedback and insights gathered from events, to ensure that event registration KPIs are met.
  • Ensure a high level of client satisfaction and repeat business by maintaining a high net profit.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT: Management of the Event Sales Funnel. Including;

  • Own the event revenue and occupancy space hire targets in Melbourne
  • Responding to enquiries from new and regular clients via CRM (HubSpot) 
  • Preparation of event quotations and management of negotiations.
  • Preparation of event orders, invoices and billing.

OPERATIONS: Event Planning, Management and Execution. Including;

  • Prepare the operations schedule based on the weekly event bookings
    Hiring, training & management of Casual Staff and providing overall leadership. Including rostering of weekly casual staff in line with the events calendar
  • Coordination with cafe head chef, logistic, security & event staff to ensure event set-up, staffing, catering, security protocol, etc is activated inline with client expectations
  • Managing event logistics, preparation and set-up on the day, including AV, catering, etc as required, directly supervise on-site events to ensure service standards are achieved.
  • Manage the booking of venue facilities (access doors, air conditioning etc).
