Perry St Child Care is a community-based 50 place child care centre and Kindergarten in Fairfield Vic. We provide care and education for children aged 6mths to 6 years.

Description

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for the right person. If you are into all things 'food' in the context of early childhood - we would love to hear from you. We are looking for a person that is passionate about food sustainability, sourcing food locally, food that is in season, cultural aspects of food and of course feeding children healthy whole food. We are looking for a person who will connect and network with the local community to provide locally sourced, in-season produce. You would be responsible for meal preparation, menu planning, food safety, purchasing and food education with children. You will have a good understanding of food lifestyle choices, specific dietary requirements and including meals for children with severe food allergies. You will work closely with our early childhood team menu planning, utilising garden produce and eggs from our chickens. The Perry St Kitchen is the heart and soul of Perry St and strongly reflects he Perry St philosophy.

Qualifications

Essential - Food Supervisor certificate and food handling. Desirable - early childhood education background and experience. Above award wage.
