The Role

The Class Preparation Assistant is responsible for all hygiene and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and compliance criteria around responsible storage and disposal of food, as well as preparation of classroom commodities and food preparation and class set up.

  • Are passionate about maintaining hygiene and food safety standards, and have knowledge of HACCP principles
  • See yourself being hands-on in managing equipment levels and quality control of goods in our kitchens, cool rooms, freezers and dry store areas
  • Are keen to provide food and beverage support services to support learning outcomes.

Reporting to the Staffing Pool Coordinator, this position will:

  • Ensure security of kitchens, dining room and bar equipment in rostered area of duty
  • Order goods as required for the store, food and liquor
  • Preliminary preparation of commodities for class use as directed by teachers where cooking is not required
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchens, stores, bars, public areas, containers and equipment as request

If you have….

  • Demonstrated experience in stores procurement and commercial kitchen procedures and processes including the knowledge of hospitality equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Current formal qualification in Food Handling and a knowledge of HACCP principles or the ability to obtain within a specified time.
  • Current Responsible Services of Alcohol Certification (desirable)
