The Housing Officer is a role within SA Housing Authority that is combination of property management and tenant wellbeing. It is accountable to the Operations Manager for:

providing clients with information, referral, advocacy, client management and tenancy management services
identifying and responding to the cultural and specific needs of Aboriginal clients
providing advocacy and referral services to clients
undertaking property management of social rental housing properties
modelling the behaviours aligned with the service values of SA Housing Authority.

Special Conditions

Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a Background Screening and National Criminal History Record Check (NCHRC) prior to being employed and every three years.
Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a DHS Working with Children screening check prior to employment and every five years
The incumbent in the role is a Mandated Notifier of child abuse under the Children’s Protection Act 1993.
Must hold a current Australian issued Driver’s Licence (equivalent to minimum class ‘C’ - South Australian), which must be maintained. Incumbents must be willing and able to drive all government vehicles within their licence classification during the course of their duties.
Some intrastate travel necessitating overnight absences may be required.
Some out of hours work may be required upon activation of the Emergency Relief Functional Support Group.
Appointment will be to a specific Region within SA Housing Authority with possible movement to any other Region depending on organisational needs. The incumbent may be assigned to any other area to perform work of a similar nature appropriate to the classification on a temporary or continuing basis.
