About the role

Reporting to the Superintendent HSE, the Supervisor, Emergency Services is responsible for the daily planning and execution of department activities to ensure the safe achievement of Emergency Services targets, ensuring the highest standard of response at all times for the South Walker Creek site. Roster will be a 5/2/4/3 roster (9 day fortnight)This position is located at South Walker Creek Mine in the QLD Bowen Basin.

In this role you will:
Ensure team conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
Lead command and control activities during actual or simulated emergency events.
Lead teams to maintain systems to ensure emergency prevention, preparedness, response and recovery is effective.
Liaise with Operational Leaders to ensure emergency response, medical and clinical management requirements are coordinated and planed.
Lead and manage team to execute specific Security and Emergency Management (SEM) projects aligned with HSE Business Plan.
Ensure operational medical and emergency response readiness is maintained.
Leadership in service delivery of site security duties.
Ensure team complies with BHP medical treatment and drug protocols / guidelines.
Manage team performance through an active operational skills training and development plan
Maintain an active clinical governance assurance and other compliance auditing program.
Manage Security and Emergency Management spend and budgeting.

About You

You will have successfully completed Cert 4 in Health Care Ambulance and have a certificate III Mines Rescue or equivalent. Previous site experience and exposure to drug and alcohol testing is highly desirable. Lead Emergency Response Teams (Command and Control / Incident management AIIMS) competency is desirable as well as minimum of C class driver’s license - HR Preferable.

Previously or currently, you have led teams in a Supervisory capacity or Step Up Supervisor and you enjoy leading teams.

Having exposure to Health, Safety and Environmental protocols and emergency management with paramedical care will demonstrate your leadership skills in managing people in emergency situations.

Energetic and driven, you work well with challenges, bringing attention to detail and an ability to meet multiple deadlines. You relate well with people, communicate confidently and build strong working relationships.
